History of The Towers

Early Years and near destruction

1979 Completion: Built as a 103-unit mid-rise complex located at 2366 E. Mall Drive.

Mid-2000s Crises: Suffered heavy damage to 26 units from Hurricanes Charley and Wilma, lost six units in a major electrical fire, accumulated $50,000 in city code violation fines, and faced the 2006 housing market implosion.

The Turn Around

2006 Board Overhaul: A newly elected owner-led board took charge and hired property management firm Alliant.

Rebuilding: Cleared massive debt, fixed code violations, handled foreclosures legally, and repaired physical structures.

2015 Recognition: Recognized on May 15, 2015, by the Florida Communities of Excellence Awards as the statewide "Comeback Kid" winner. Read more about the award here: 2015 Comeback Kid Award.

Community Management

The amazing comeback and ongoing success of The Towers would not have been possible with the tireless and tenacious actions of the condo president, Terry Ondak. He was omnipresent during the destruction and consequent rebuilding and repair of the The Towers. He is a long time resident and has guided The Towers evolution from its dire early condition to its current state as one of the most desirable residences in the area. Not only were there structural and aesthetic improvements, he also has been dedicated to providing the safest community possible as evidenced by promoting safety guidelines and the recent installation of 72 new security cameras. No other condominium of its size can exceed these safety enhancements.

Terry is your “go to” person for any questions you might have.
